Businesses that generate less than 4 cubic yards per week of solid waste and multi-family residential properties with fewer than 5 units are not presently required to submit an application for exemption.
Exemptions to requirements of the Commercial Recycling Program (Municipal Code Chapter 13.36) may be granted at the discretion of the Public Works Director or his/her designee. This application must be completed by the applicant and approved by the Director/designee. An exemption may be revoked at any time at the discretion of the Director or his/her designee if one or more of the factors justifying the exemption no longer exist, or other changes in circumstances warrant revocation. Unless revoked, this exemption shall be effective until February 28, 2022. Applications must be renewed and submitted by March 1 each year thereafter.

The City of Woodland reserves the right to inspect/audit facilities for confirmation that the above information is correct and valid, and submission of this application form constitutes the applicant’s permission for the City to conduct inspections on the applicant’s premises. The applicant will be notified in writing if this application is denied, including the reasons for the denial. The denial of an application for an exemption or the revocation of an exemption may be appealed to the Director of Public Works and City Manager, whose decision shall be final (see Municipal Code Chapter 13.36).
