Tip of the Month

A new year is a new opportunity to make your home a little greener. As many of us continue to stay at home, its important to reduce our energy usage when possible. Try turning down your heater by a degree or two and putting on an extra layer of clothing and some cozy socks! By making small changes you can help reduce your carbon footprint and reduce your energy bill.

Dry Grass

Low Rain Projections for the Year

Unusually warm weather and little rain has projected a potential dry year coming our way. While we may not be able stop it, we can help make every drop count. Here are some ways you can help conserve water at home:

  • Weather Based Irrigation Controller - A weather based irrigation controller (WBIC) can evaluate weather conditions and automatically adjust watering schedules to meet the specific needs of your landscape. The City of Woodland offers rebates up to $150 for WBIC's. Learn more at EnviroWoodland.org/Rebates
  • Sprinkler Check Up - Check on your irrigation system for any broken, clogged or missing parts. Running a faulty irrigation system can cause leaks and overflows, and waste a surprisingly large amount of water. For a step by step checklist on how to inspect each zone for signs of water waste click here.
  • Check for leaks - Did you know a leaky faucet can add up to 300 gallons of wasted water in a month? To check your home for potentially hidden leaks go on AquaHawk, your water use dashboard and leak alert system. With AquaHawk, you can monitor your water use and check for abnormal water use patterns. Click here to find out how much water you are using today!
Waste Management Update

Waste Management Updates

Thank you for your patience as Waste Management worked through the service delay issues resulting from COVID-19 quarantine measures. To account for the missed services, Woodland residents will receive a $9.59 credit on their next Waste Management bill.

If you received a message on your Waste Management bill regarding early cancellation, please disregard. This message was printed in error and does not apply to the Woodland service area.

As a reminder, leaf drop season ends January 31. Green waste street pile services will return to monthly pickups starting February 1. To find out your service schedule, visit EnviroWoodland.org/WasteWizard.

If you have any questions or concerns about your Waste Management bill or service, please contact WM at (530) 662-8748.
