Yolo County Revised Health Order

(NEW JULY 13)Per the State of California’s announcement today for counties on the County Monitoring List (List) for three consecutive days, the following industries will be closed in Yolo County effective immediately unless they can be modified to operate outside or by pick-up:

  • Gyms and fitness centers
  • Personal care services, including nail salons, skin care and cosmetology, electrolysis, body waxing, and body art, tattoo and piercing shops
  • Hair salons and barber shops
  • Places of worship
  • Offices for non-essential sectors
  • Indoor malls
All alcohol-only bars and breweries must close operations, both indoor and outdoor, statewide **unless an exception below applies:
1. Bars, pubs, brewpubs, and breweries, may operate outdoors if they are offering sit-down, outdoor meals. Alcohol can be sold only in the same transaction as a meal. When operating outdoors, they must follow the restaurant guidance and should continue to encourage takeout and delivery service whenever possible.

2. Bars, pubs, brewpubs, and breweries that do not provide sit-down meals themselves, but can contract with another vendor to do so, can serve meals when operating outdoors provided both businesses follow the restaurant guidance and alcohol is sold only in the same transaction as a meal.

3. Venues that are currently authorized to provide off sale beer, wine, and spirits to be consumed off premises and do not offer sit-down meals must follow the guidance for retail operations and offer curbside sales only.

4. Concert, performance, or entertainment venues must remain closed until they are allowed to resume modified or full operation through a specific reopening order or guidance. Establishments that serve full meals must discontinue this type of entertainment until these types of activities are allowed to resume modified or full operation.

Residents and businesses must continue to wear face coverings, maintain social distance, and stay home as much as possible to help lower the spread of COVID-19.

The County’s amended health order can be read here. To read the State’s guidance on closure of sectors can be read here.

Additional Information:
  • Unfortunately, we do not have a current estimate for when these will be allowed to re-open.
  • As noted above, outdoor operations may continue with proper social distancing and/or masking protocols. Our local guidance on drive-in religious services can be found here: Link

Fake ADA “Face Mask Exempt" Cards Advisory

An important message from Resources for Independent Living: Don't be fooled by "Face Mask Exempt" cards. These are not government issued and are not supported by the Americans with Disabilities Act. At best, these are being used by People with Disabilities uncertain of their rights. At worst, these are being used by individuals claiming to have a disability in order to get out of wearing a face covering.

Your local Independent Living Center is available to help anyone with a disability during this pandemic, including those needing assistance as a result of not being able to wear a face covering. There are many ways to obtain the goods and services one needs without exposing oneself or others to COVID-19. Find the Independent Living Center in your area at CFILC.org.

Apply NOW for your outdoor dining & use permits

With indoor dining prohibited, we encourage all of our businesses to apply for the FREE outdoor dining permit. The goal of the Temporary Outdoor Use Permit is to support and assist businesses in meeting the operational guidelines outlined by the State including significant reductions in indoor seating capacity to meet social distancing requirements.  The Temporary Permit will allow local restaurants and some retailers the ability to expand their square footage by expanding seating and displays outdoors, either on public sidewalks or in private parking lots where parking spaces or walkways can be temporarily converted to create an outdoor patio space.

The permit is effective immediately and is available on the City’s Economic Development COVID-19 Response webpage. The direct link is available HERE.  Approved applications will be effective through the State and local termination of the COVID-19 emergency.
