City Kicks Off In-Person Water-Wise Landscape Tour, Saturday May 20
The City invites the Woodland community to attend our Water-Wise Landscape Tour to see examples of converted yards and learn tips and tricks to help make your own landscape more water-wise. The 11th Annual Water-Wise Landscape Tour will be back in person this year and will explore unique, water-wise yards, throughout Woodland.
Join us at City Hall at 8 am to view a presentation on the importance of pollinators in water-wise gardens. At 8:30 am, come purchase plants (cash and checks only) and receive your copy of this year’s tour booklet to visit as many of the tour sites you’d like by noon.
With over half of the water we use at home going to irrigation, it’s no surprise that yards are the first place to look when trying to reduce water use. This tour will feature an array of front and back yards, which have been re-designed to reduce water use and fit the homeowners’ lifestyles. In addition, key water-wise plants that can be planted in any Woodland yard will be highlighted for each landscape. Attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look at gorgeous gardens and access to plant lists for each one.
The best ideas come from real-life examples, so come draw inspiration for your yard and start working towards creating your own water-wise landscape.
