Bias in Communication
Personal Biases, Fake News, and How to Talk to Your Neighbors
July 26, 6:30 – 8:30
Woodland Public Library Leake Room,
250 First St. Woodland CA
Do you have a hard time watching the news?
Do you feel comfortable discussing that information with your family? Friends? Neighbors?
Is what you see on the news even real?
Please join Christopher Maben, an Instructor in the Communication Studies Department at California State University Sacramento, who will be leading a discussion that centers on the intersection of interpersonal communication and political communication in today’s tribal environment.

The Science & Society sessions provide opportunities for the public and those engaged in research and policymaking to share ideas and concerns. We hope such public discussions will become models for polite and meaningful engagement of participants with differing points of view and that they will increase understanding of the issues and contribute to more informed development of future public policies. All are welcome to attend, and we encourage an open dialog on all the topics presented.
