César Chávez was a catalyst for the labor and civil rights movements. To commemorate and celebrate his contributions, members of the community are encouraged to come to Heritage Plaza on Wednesday, March 31 to participate in activities that will foster reflection of César Chávez and the work he did. The small acts of service by families in the community can have a great impact on the community as a whole.
Service stations include:
• Seeds for Growth- Planting stations will be set up for families to plant their own seeds to watch and care for as they grow. Families will be able to take home their plantings for future harvest.
• Leaves of Changes- Craft supplies will be available for families to help create a digital mural. Everyone can share their message of change and how they can impact the world. The mural will be on published our public channels for the community to see.
• Canned Food Drive- In the spirit of helping others, families are encouraged to bring 1 canned food item per person to be donated to the Woodland Food Closet.
The activities will be available in Heritage Plaza from 4:00-6:30 pm on March 31. Tables will be spaced out in the plaza to allow each household to work socially distanced from one another. All attendees will be required to wear facial coverings. To register your family, please visit:
