[ARCHIVED] Tax Prep for Seniors

The AARP Foundation’s Tax-Aide program has provided free tax preparation assistance to the community for many years. The State of California has deemed tax preparation as an essential service. Woodland’s local tax volunteers have been working very hard to gather other volunteer tax preparers and develop a method to conduct tax appointments safely.

Please call (530) 405-9855 to be put on the appointment interest queue.  Be prepared to leave a message, so be sure to leave your name, email address, and callback number. Click for program updates.

In the coming weeks, AARP volunteers will begin making appointments. There are three basic steps: a) scanning tax documents, b) conducting a video or phone appointment, and c) signing tax returns. The extra steps come out of an abundance of caution for the citizens and for AARP volunteers. Since there are fewer tax preparers in 2021, they will not be able to accommodate the volume that they normally would. Because of this, we may be directing many people to seek professional tax preparation assistance. AARP volunteers are committed to assisting as many citizens as possible.
