PRESS RELEASE
City of Woodland

May 22, 2020 - Memorial Day Weekend
As we anticipate the County’s approval of further reopening of our economy next week, we encourage you to take time this Memorial Day Weekend to explore new ways under the current shelter guidelines to connect with friends, family and neighbors and remember those brave men and women whose lives were lost protecting our freedom. Sharing time and food together outdoors is a great way to do this and part of the traditional of this holiday for many.
In an effort to support our local restaurant businesses that have been heavily impacted by the restrictions imposed during this pandemic, we encourage you to order a meal to go and take it to your favorite park, open space, or even your own front yard as you “Say Hi” to your neighbors. A listing and interactive map with contact information of the local restaurants is available at HTTPS://Bit.LY/2Y2NYIA.
In support of all of our restaurants, this Saturday evening from 4-8:30pm, residents can also take their to go orders from any restaurant and find an open table downtown on First Street and College Street. Clean and sanitized tables will be available. Social distancing, sanitizing, and other safety measures will be enforced.
Mayor Rich Lansburgh says, “Whatever you do this holiday weekend, we trust you will continue to be diligent in your efforts to help stop the spread of the virus as well as participate in restoring our local economy.”
This Memorial Day weekend join us in remembering those who fought to defend our freedoms and also celebrate those who are making sacrifices on the front lines today.
