PRESS RELEASE
City of Woodland
300 First Street
April 30, 2020 - Social Distancing Reminders
A key part of minimizing the transmission of COVID-19 is social distancing. Social distancing, also called “physical distancing,” means keeping space between yourself and other people outside of your home. Here are some simply guidelines on how to practice social or physical distancing:
- Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people
- Stay out of crowded places and avoid mass gatherings

Social distancing can help keep you healthy, but it also might be a little frustrating and lonely at times. Most people think about what they can’t do in social distancing. Here are the Woodland Stompers sharing something that you CAN do! Social distancing fun. https://www.facebook.com/dailydemocrat/videos/682848395823670/?vh=e&d=n
The Woodland Stompers are a line dance troupe that started in 1988. When not in quarantine, the Stompers practice every Monday at 1:30 pm in the Woodland Community & Senior Center. During the shelter in place order, they came together to dance while maintaining social distancing boundaries. The Woodland Stompers perform frequently at senior care facilities and community events. More information can be found on their website, woodlandstompers.org

And Remember to…. #SayHiWoodland
Hola, Bonjour, Hello, Hi, Ciao, Aloha, Namaste, Ni Hau, however you say it, whether by shouting it across the street or a simple wave, pause Jeopardy!, step out of your front door tonight, and every night at 7 pm and say “Hi” to your neighbors. Woodland has joined a nationwide effort to spread cheer and positivity.
