PRESS RELEASE
City of Woodland
300 First Street
The W. Main Street project started construction in April and is anticipated to be completed in December, pending weather delays. When complete, the project will improve W. Main Street from West Street to County Road 98. The project scope includes reconstruction of the pavement and striping new bicycle lanes with narrowed travel lanes. The project will also widen the roadway and construct curb, gutter and sidewalk between Ashley and Cottonwood streets where there is currently no sidewalk. In addition, ADA ramp improvements, and traffic signal modifications will be constructed.
During project construction there will be significant traffic impacts to Main St. and adjacent side streets including reduced access, lane closures and some short-term full road closures. Access to adjacent homes/businesses will be available for the duration of the project. During the project, signs will be placed requesting that drivers use alternate routes.
A public information meeting will be held at the Yolo County Housing Office’s located at 147 W. Main St., Woodland, CA 95695 on Tuesday, May 14th at 6:00 pm to discuss the project. Attendance is encouraged as this will be an opportunity to learn about the project scope, traffic impacts, and to have questions answered regarding the project.
