PRESS RELEASE
City of Woodland
300 First Street
Woodland, CA 95695
River gauges on Cache Creek are showing the creek, north of Woodland, will be at or near “danger stage” around 8:00 p.m. tonight. Based on current information, the creek is not expected to overtop or flood, and instead is forecast to go down again around 10:00 p.m. However, state and local personnel experienced with flood management, are monitoring the situation and are prepared to address levee issues or changes as they occur.
At this time, the City of Woodland and surrounding communities are not expected to experience more than the seasonal, localized flooding they are already experiencing. Should the situation change, Yolo County and the City of Woodland will alert residents.
In the meantime, for those who would like to stock up on sand and sandbags, the City of Woodland will be supplying sand and sandbags for Woodland residents at 655 N. Pioneer Ave, until 6:00 p.m. today and we encourage residents to come with gloves and shovels. To ensure fair distribution there is a maximum of 30 sand bags available per resident. Sand bags remain available at retail outlets and are a good to have as a precautionary measure.
