A new fire station at E. Gibson Road and Bourn Drive will provide primary emergency services for the City’s southeast area. The centralized location will offer quick access into the Spring Lake, Gibson Ranch, and Matmor neighborhoods.
With easy access to Highway 113, the station will also be well-positioned to respond to the central and northern areas of Woodland, including the industrial area. Although fire stations are located in or near the neighborhoods where they provide primary service, all Woodland Fire Department apparatus respond to incidents Citywide. Locating firefighting apparatus on or near major thoroughfares benefits all Woodlanders.
The station plan requires a four-way signalized intersection at E. Gibson and Bourn Drive/ Harry Lorenzo Ave. The station will house fire suppression apparatus, a battalion chief (supervisory unit), and provide space for Fire Administration and Community Risk Reduction (Fire Prevention).
