Take control of your water use with automatic alerts. Receive an email, text message, or phone call right away if your water use indicates a problem like a leak or if you use more water in a billing period than you would like.
Step One: Set Your Preferred Contact Method
In the upper right hand corner, click the drop down triangle next to your User Name.
Click on the User Settings buttons.
Choose your contact preference. This will be how AquaHawk alerts you of issues.
Click OK to save.
Step Two: Set Bill and Water Use Alerts
In the center of the page, just below your bill information, click the blue My Thresholds button.
To specify an amount you don't want your bill to exceed, enter a dollar value in the Estimated Bill Alert Threshold field.
Click the Current box if you want to be notified when your bill amount has exceeded your threshold.
Click the Projected box if you want to be notified when your estimated bill amount will exceed your threshold by the end of the billing period.
You can do the same type of alert for Water Use. For example, water rates increase when you use more than 8,976 gallons a month (Tier 2). To be alerted when you come close to going into Tier 2, simply put 8,976 under Water Use Threshold and click Projected.
Click "Apply" to save.
Step Three: Set A Leak Alert
Below your bill information, click the blue Alert Settings button.
In the alert settings box, click on the link for Advanced Water Thresholds.
There are a few options here. To get an alert if your account shows signs of a potential leak, fill out the last row as shown. In this example, I would be alerted if I used 7 gallons an hour, every hour, for 16 hours straight.
Click Apply to save.
Normal water use will have long periods of time when no water is being used, like when you are asleep or out of the house. It is very rare that a resident will use water every hour for 16 hours straight. This alert will help you catch a hose left on or a potential leak quick!
