Support Branch

The Woodland Fire Volunteer Support Branch was organized on March 9, 1997. The founding fathers of the Support Branch, all former members of the Woodland and Springlake Fire Departments, felt that there was a need to form a local group to preserve the fire history of these departments (the two departments merged in 1982).

Starting with 28 members, the Support Branch quickly obtained their non-profit status (501(c)(3)) with the State of California to help finance their goal of history preservation. Over the last 20 years, the Woodland Fire Volunteer Support Branch has acquired and restored several antique apparatus that served the City of Woodland and the State of California. The Support Branch continues to serve as the custodian for all of the Woodland Fire Department's antique apparatus.

Woodland - Springlake Fire Museum

In addition to their work with the Department's antique apparatus, the Support Branch also maintains the Woodland-Springlake Fire Museum. The Museum is located at 525 Court Street, the original location of Woodland Fire Station 1. Tours are available by appointment every Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tours are led by members of the Support Branch who can provide additional information and answer any questions that you may have. Their knowledge of the Woodland Fire Department and the apparatus are invaluable. To set up a tour for your group, contact any of the Support Branch members including Tim Brannigan or Jerry Wright.
