The Woodland Fire Department (WFD) is divided into two primary service divisions, Fire Operations and Fire Prevention, which are under the direction of the Fire Chief.
Operations Division
The Operations Division responds to fire, medical, hazardous materials, and rescue emergencies to protect life and property. It is comprised of three shifts (A-Shift, B-Shift, and C-Shift), each of which is overseen by a Battalion Chief.
Community Risk Reduction Division
The Community Risk Reduction Division provides technical guidance during development planning, provides plan-checking services on new construction and remodel projects, and conducts permit inspections to be sure fire and life safety issues are being adhered to. Staff are also heavily involved in public information, public outreach, and disaster preparedness for the City. The Fire Marshal oversees this Prevention Division.
