Phase: Design
Anticipated Completion: Winter 2024
Project Description
This project will address many deficiencies inside the 13-foot deep, 24-inch diameter Gibson Trunk Sewer between Matmor Road and County Road 102. Generally, sewers are designed for a service life of 50 to 100 years but their actual service life depends on installation, earth loading and sewage loading conditions. The pipes identified in this project are predominantly over 60 years old and are in significantly deteriorated conditions. Two existing manholes that are buried and not accessible will need to be exposed for maintenance entry. Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining will be used to rehabilitate the 3,250 linear feet of trunk sewer. The pipeline repairs are expected to succeed without excavation in the streets; however, open-cut excavation may be necessary if pipe conditions deteriorate further.
