Professional Experience

Mayra has worked in the healthcare industry for nearly 10 years. Her focus has been strategic planning, business development, and program development for community and regional hospitals. Prior to her career in healthcare, Mayra worked in the Wine and Spirits Industry doing Direct to Consumer Sales and Marketing.

Education & Early Life

Mayra has a BA degree in Economics from UC Davis and an MBA from Sonoma State University. 

Mayra is a native of Michoacán, Mexico, her family immigrated to California when she was five years old.  She grew up in Napa where she attended public schools. Mayra was the first in her family to graduate high school and complete a graduate education. 

Mayra’s Family

Mayra and her husband Jose have two children, German and Teresa, both attend local schools. In her free time Mayra enjoys being outdoors and riding her bike. 

Mayra’s goals and priorities:

My goal is for Woodland to continue to be a great place to live, work and do business. Our residents deserve innovative leadership that balances a broad variety of perspectives. I will work collaboratively with residents, public agencies, schools, and businesses to build an inclusive community where our residents can live meaningful lives for generations to come. 

My priorities include:

-    Developing a Safe, Healthy and Active Community

-    Supporting Accessible Quality Housing

-    Promoting integrated and inclusive community planning

-    Enhancing Youth and Senior Services

-    Promoting sustainable development and job growth

-    Protecting Agricultural Land and Woodland’s historic identity
