Legacy Grove Tree Planting - February 13, 2016

January 14, 2016

The City of Woodland, in partnership with the Woodland Tree Foundation, is proud to announce the first Legacy Grove Tree Planting event scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Woodland Community and Senior Center. The Legacy Grove will feature a variety of tree species, provide an opportunity for memorializing or honoring individuals or groups, and provide an attractive and accessible location for recreation and relaxation, among other community benefits. The trees planted in the Legacy Grove will compensate for the removal of trees removed as part of the City’s solar project and will promote the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions consistent with the City’s Climate Action Plan by increasing carbon sequestration, tree canopy, and shade.

Volunteers for the Legacy Grove Tree Planting event on February 13th will meet at the west end of the Dog Park at the Woodland Community and Senior Center.
