January 12, 2016
Join your neighbors and Woodland Tree Foundation to plant shade trees in neighborhoods of Woodland on January 23, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Volunteers will meet at Campbell Park and work in teams to plant shade trees at the homes of participating residents. Training and refreshments will be provided to volunteers. Please bring a shovel, work shoes, and gloves. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Shade trees support many community and environmental benefits including energy conservation, soil water retention, neighborhood beautification, and others. Every tree planted at this event counts towards achieving the 2,400 Trees Campaign goal and the City’s 2020 Climate Action Plan goal of increasing Woodland’s tree canopy 50% by 2020 by planting 6,000 trees.
