Making a difference “One neighborhood at a time" residents throughout the City of Woodland are encouraged tojoin forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “32nd Annual National Night Out" (NNO) crime and drug prevention event. National Night, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Woodland Police Department, will involve over 16,540 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.
On Tuesday, August 4th, 2015 Woodland residents are encouraged to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and spend some time outside with their neighbors. This event is designed to promote partnerships within the community and to encourage neighbors to get to know each other. After all, the best crime prevention tool ever invented is your neighbor.
The Woodland Public Safety Department, American Medical Response (AMR), California Highway Patrol, Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, Yolo District Attorney’s Office and Yolo911 Police Dispatch will all be visiting participating neighborhoods that celebrate by hosting block parties.
