The first ever Chalk on the Blockevent hosted by The Woodland Farmers Market, Market on Main, will be held Saturday, May 30th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Heritage Plaza. This event serves as both a way to educate about healthful living through interactive art and as a fundraiser directly supporting The Woodland Farmers Market.
Each Saturday in May, part of Main Street, from First to Third Street, will be closed to vehicles and open for foot traffic only between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon -creating a family friendly environment. Chalk on the Block aims to raise enough funds so that we can continue to close Main Street for the remainder of the summer.
Each artist or group of artists will be given a square to create a piece of artwork with the theme of “Farmers Market” in mind. The chalk has already kindly been donated so all we need from artists is their creativity!
For our younger community member Nugget Markets has sponsored a “doodle zone” where kids can come draw their favorite healthy food while checking out the artists working on their “Farmers Market” themed squares.
For more information about this event and how you can participate as a sponsor or artist please contact Megan Laney at (530) 661-5922 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration forms are linked below and available at www.thewoodlandfarmersmarket.org.
