April 15, 2015
The Woodland Police Department, in appreciation of the hard work of the 7 Chaplains and 26 Volunteers in Policing, held a BBQ lunch today from 11 am to 1 pm. The event included the dedication of the BBQ grill built on the patio by department staff for the faithful service of the chaplains.
In March 2015 alone, the Chaplains volunteered a total of 91.5 hours, serving at several call outs involving death notifications and counseling requests. The Chaplains also participated in the Every 15 Minutes programs at Winters High School and Woodland Christian School.
The ViPs volunteered at total of 392.5 hours in March, assisting with extra patrol in designated neighborhoods and schools, vehicle abatement, administrative tasks in our Records division (including data entry and filing), courier service and graffiti abatement.
Our volunteers are invaluable in the work they do for the department and the community! We appreciate their hard work and their eagerness to serve.
Please consider becoming a ViP and partner with us in serving our community! For more information, please contact the ViP coordinator, Crime Prevention Specialist Mini Garcia (661-7875; firstname.lastname@example.org).
