Woodland Public Library is pleased to present the Woodland Honor Band for a free, public concert, weather permitting, on February 23, 2015 from 7 to 8 PM. The concert will be held outdoors on the south side of the library.
Woodland Honor Band is performing at the world renowned Carnegie Hall for the New York Wind Band Festival in March. This is a tremendous occasion for the youth to represent the City of Woodland.
The library recognizes and supports the hard work of the students, parents and school staff by inviting the band to play. A send-off to Carnegie Hall is fitting for the oldest working Carnegie library in California. The community can provide support through voluntary donations at www.woodlandschoolsfoundation.org.
Band Director, Bobby Rogers says, "The kids were all on board to perform at the library. It gives them an opportunity to rehearse in a new environment and the public will be sure to enjoy their music."
The Woodland Honor Band is composed of 65 students from Woodland High School and Pioneer High School with full percussion and bass. Chairs will be arranged on the lawn for audience seating. Everyone is invited and no reservations required.
