City Council Re-Organization Meeting To Be Held at the Community and Senior Center on Tuesday, July 1st at 6:00pm
Woodland, CA -, the City of Woodland will be holding its next regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 1 at 6:00pm at the Community and Senior Center, located at 2001 East Street, Woodland, California. (Note special location for this Council meeting).
This meeting represents the biennial Council transition meeting where, following the formal certification of the election results from the recent June 3rd municipal election, Dr. Bill Marble and Mr. Angel Barajas will be sworn-in.
Dr. Marble was re-elected to this third term on the City Council while Mr. Barajas will begin his first term on the Council, having recently served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Woodland Joint Unified Scholl District. Mayor Marlin ‘Skip” Davies is leaving the Council after eight years of distinguished service, having served for four of those years, including the past two years, as Mayor. Mr. Davies did not seek re-election.
Following the formal swearing-in of Council members, the new Council will appoint its officers for the 2014-2016 two-year term. According to the City’s Municipal Code, Vice Mayor Tom Stallard is set to assume the role of Mayor, and Dr. Marble, having received the most votes on June 3rd, will be installed as Mayor Pro Tempore.
The evening’s program will honor former Mayors who have served the community of Woodland, and will conclude with remarks from incoming-Mayor Tom Stallard.
Light refreshments will be served upon adjournment of the meeting.
