Come to the FREE Senior Resource Fair on Wednesday, May 28th, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. if you are interested in what programs and services are available to adults ages 55+ in Woodland and Yolo County. The event will be held at the Woodland Community and Senior Center, 2001 East Street, in Woodland.
More than sixty organizations who serve Woodland will be on-site to answer questions and provide materials, covering topics such as: health care, in-home support services, health and fitness, legal and tax assistance, support groups, volunteerism, repairs and chores, and much more. In addition, free informative presentations are available to hear more about improving balance and strength, learning CPR, and eating healthy.
Prior to the resource fair, take part in a "Fun Walk" that begins at 9:30 a.m. put on by the YMCA Health & Wellness Center in honor of National Senior Fitness Day. Other free exercise and fitness classes will be available for seniors to try including: indoor cycling, T'ai Ch’, and a Senior Fitness class. Seniors are encouraged to ride their bikes to the event. The Woodland Bike Campaign will be on-site providing more information about bike and helmet checks.
