Yolo County’s agricultural and artistic diversity will be 'harvested' at the 4th Annual Art Farm Harvest Gala on Friday, November 4. Featuring the work of over fifty Yolo County artists, this collection of watercolors, photographs, oil and acrylic paintings and fiber and rock art captures the essence of Yolo County’s rural county landscape.
Doors to the event will open at 6:00 p.m. at Gallery 625 and live music will be featured throughout the evening. The food and wine to be served will feature local and regional wineries, restaurants and farms. Wineries serving include: Berryessa Gap Vineyards, Route 3 Wines, SeKe Winery, and Senders Wines.
Food will be prepared by Cache Creek Casino Resort, Monticello Seasonal Cuisine, Main Street Café, and Fat Face Restaurant.
Farms providing the food to be prepared include: Capay Organic, Good Humus Produce, Fully Belly Farms, Capay Canyon Ranch and Damian Appert.
The 'harvest' will begin at 6:30 p.m. for those who purchased shovels, and turns will be taken by lottery until all of the art has been harvested from the gallery walls. Shovels for art harvesting are $150 and provide entrance for two and the option to harvest an original work of art with a value of at least $150. A silent auction will also be part of the evening's activities. Tickets for only the food, wine and silent auction portion of the event are $15 per person in advance; $20 at the door. To purchase tickets go to yoloarts.org or call 530-406-4844.
Proceeds raised by the Art Farm Art Harvest will be used to support the Art & Ag program. All of the art for the harvest and auction was created by artists who participated in the Art & Ag program, where artists toured county farms to explore the artistic interpretation of farms, and to learn directly from farmers about the complexity of farm work. The Art & Ag project has been supported by a grant from the James Irvine Foundation and through a partnership of YoloArts, the Yolo Land Trust and the Davis Farmers Market Foundation.
Gallery 625 is located in the Erwin Meier Administration Building, 625 Court St. in Woodland and the Art Farm art can be previewed this month during the regular gallery viewing hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For additional information and to buy tickets, call YoloArts at 530-406-4844, or visit the website at yoloarts.org.
