9/11 Anniversary Commemoration

On Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 0700 hours the Police and Fire Departments will conduct a Flag Raising and Fire Bell Ringing Ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of the events that occurred on September 11, 2001.

All City staff and the general public are invited to attend.  The event will be held in front of the Woodland Police Department, 1000 Lincoln Avenue.  Those wishing to attend should be present at 0700 hours.

The Honor Guard will raise the colors in front of the Police Department shortly after 0700, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Art Pimentel will make some comments to those gathered.  The Mayor’s remarks will be followed by comments from Police Chief Dan Bellini and Fire Chief Tod Reddish.

Upon completion of Chief Reddish’s comments the Fire Department will conduct the Fire Service Bell Ceremony to remember those who fell on September 11.  Closing remarks will be made and the ceremony will conclude.
