The City of Woodland partnered with the California Chapter, Congress for the New Urbanism to conduct a 4-day community charrette to create redevelopment plans for the County Fair Mall. A team of California experts will propose designs with a mix of retail, housing, and other uses in walkable setting, plus financing and phasing strategies and alternatives. Open to the public, the Charrette is an interactive way to create and test ideas with recommendations from the community.
The Charrette begins Friday, September 29 and end Tuesday, October 3.
An opening presentation will take place Friday, September 29 at 5:30 pm, in the City Hall Council Chambers, 300 First Street, Woodland. The Team will set up a studio at the formerly Gottschalk builidng inside the County Fair Mall. The studio, open to the public 9:00am to 6:00pm Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, will provide the committee with daily opportunities to provide input on planning and designing the County Fair Mall's redevoplemt.
