Woodland residents are invited to dispose of unneeded medications at the Pharmaceutical Take-Back Event on October 22. Unused pharmaceutical products, when flushed down the drain or disposed of in other inappropriate ways can contaminate waterways and harm fish, wildlife and human health. Further, unneeded pharmaceutical products stored at home may be improperly used and are best removed from medicine cabinets.
In an effort to prevent improper disposal or unauthorized use of pharmaceuticals, the City’s Police Department, Environmental Services Division, Wastewater Pretreatment Program, and Corner Drug Co. have again partnered together to sponsor this annual event. This free, single-day event is open to Woodland residents only.
The Pharmaceutical Take-Back Event will be held on Saturday, October 22, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Woodland Police Department at 1000 Lincoln Avenue. Look for volunteers, colorfully painted signs, traffic arrows, and balloons. Residents are asked to stay in their vehicles at the convenient drive-through drop-off site.
