Sec. 16A-1-3. Personnel board.

There is hereby created a personnel board to consist of five members to be appointed by the city council. A majority vote of the city council shall be required to appoint a member of the personnel board. Members of the personnel board shall be residents of the city. No person will be appointed to the board who holds a salaried office or employment with the city of Woodland.
The term of office of each member of the personnel board shall be three years and each term shall begin on January 1st and end on December 31st. If a vacancy shall occur other than by expiration of a term, it shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term. In order to establish staggered terms of office of the members first appointed, one member shall be appointed for a one-year term, two members shall be appointed for two-year terms, and two members shall be appointed for three-year terms. Upon expiration of such designated terms, successors shall be appointed for full three-year terms as provided above. Each member, unless sooner terminated, shall serve until his/her successor is appointed and qualified. (Ord. No. 1094, § 1 (part).)
