Any owner, lessee, occupant, or other person having charge or control of any lot or premises within the city who maintains any public nuisance as defined in this chapter, and who fails to comply with the order or abatement served as provided in Section 14C-1-4 of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or to imprisonment for a period of not exceeding six months, or both such fine and imprisonment.
