The petition and staff report shall be scheduled as an item on the agenda of a planning commission meeting. The planning commission shall make a recommendation to the city council on whether the petition should be accepted or denied. Their recommendation should state whether they think the proposed boundaries of the specific plan area are appropriate and consistent with policies of the general plan. (Ord. No. 1295, (part).)
