Electronic Waste: Computers/TV's

The Dept. of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) classified cathode ray tubes (CRT’s) as Universal Waste.  CRT’s are found in computer monitors, TV’s and other electronic devices.  They contain lead and mercury and toxic substances that are against the law to throw in the garbage.

Printer Cartridges

Many companies who sell/manufacture toner and ink printer cartridges offer mail in rebates that include a pre-paid return shipping label on their packaging.  Alternate programs are available.  Check the internet for current cartridge fundraiser and recycling opportunities.

Many national retail chain office supply stores like Staples and Office Depot offer a variety of office supply recycling programs.  Check with your local store for current terms.
