On Friday, November 1, 2013 at about 11:42 A.M. Woodland police officers were dispatched to 250 Buckeye Street for a red Mitsubishi Eclipse driving recklessly in the area.  A Woodland officer located the Mitsubishi in the area of Cottonwood Street and West Cross Street.  The officer checked the Mitsubishi’s license plate and learned it had been reported stolen. Before the officer could approach the Mitsubishi, the driver drove it away at a high rate of speed.  The officer pursued the vehicle with lights and siren on.  The vehicle travelled on surface streets throughout the southwest area of Woodland, reached speeds of 70 MPH, and lasted about 9 minutes.  Other officers joined the pursuit.  The driver stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of The Windmere Apartments at 655 Cottonwood Street.  The 14-year-old female driver, a Woodland resident, was taken into custody without incident.  She was booked into the Yolo County Juvenile Hall for charges of recklessly evading a police officer and vehicle theft.  No one else was located in the Mitsubishi.  No one was injured during the pursuit or the apprehension of the suspect.
