|On 8-18-13, at about 0645 hrs., Woodland Police Officers were dispatched to 59 W. Lincoln Ave regarding a single vehicle traffic collision into a building. When officers arrived on scene they determined that a gas line in the front yard of 59 W. Lincoln Ave had been damaged during the collision causing natural gas to freely flow from a pipe. The driver of the vehicle, thirty year old Woodland resident Isis Haas, was driving eastbound on W. Lincoln Ave when she lost control of her vehicle for an unknown reason causing her vehicle to leave the roadway. The vehicle collided with the fence in front of 59 W. Lincoln Ave, struck the gas main severing it from the in ground pipe causing natural gas to escape. The driver was determined not to be under the influence of alcohol. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Hass was uninjured during the collision. No one else was injured during the collision.
Woodland Bible Church generously opened their doors for the evacuated residents and worked with Red Cross to provide any necessary items until the residents could return to their apartments.
