On Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at approximately 08:48 A.M., Woodland Police Officers responded to 120 W. Lincoln Avenue (The Car Wash) for a female subject yelling, throwing objects, and was hitting the curb with a metal object.  A responding officer arrived on scene and contacted the female subject, identified as Woodland resident Ruby Marina Lucero (D.O.B.: 08/20/1979), who became physically combative with the officer.  A second responding officer arrived on scene and assisted the first officer with handcuffing Lucero.  Lucero continued to resist and struggle with the officers as they attempted to handcuff her.  Lucero was able to break free from the officers’ hold striking the initial arriving officer in head several times with handcuffs.   The officer received several lacerations to his head and elbows.  Additional officers arrived on scene and were able to gain control of Lucero and placed her safely into custody without further incident.   Lucero was transported to Woodland Memorial Hospital for a routine medical clearance.  The officer was treated for his injuries at Woodland Memorial Hospital and returned back to full duty.  Lucero was transported to the Yolo County Jail and booked for assault with a deadly weapon, felony resisting an officer, and possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine).

The Woodland Police Department asked that anyone with any additional information pertaining to this crime or this person to contact Woodland Police Department at 530-661-7800 or 530-666-2411.  Caller can remain anonymous.
