On Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at approximately 08:48 A.M., Woodland Police Officers responded to 120 W. Lincoln Avenue (The Car Wash) for a female subject yelling, throwing objects, and was hitting the curb with a metal object. A responding officer arrived on scene and contacted the female subject, identified as Woodland resident Ruby Marina Lucero (D.O.B.: 08/20/1979), who became physically combative with the officer. A second responding officer arrived on scene and assisted the first officer with handcuffing Lucero. Lucero continued to resist and struggle with the officers as they attempted to handcuff her. Additional officers arrived on scene and were able to gain control of Lucero and placed her safely into custody without further incident. Lucero was transported to Woodland Memorial Hospital for a routine medical clearance. The officer was treated for his injuries at Woodland Memorial Hospital and returned back to full duty. Lucero was transported to the Yolo County Jail and booked for assault with a deadly weapon, felony resisting an officer, and possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine).
