|On July 4th, 2013 at approximately 9am Woodland Police Officers, Fire Fighters and Ambulance personnel were dispatched to the Bel Air Shopping Center located at 1885 E. Gibson Rd. for a traffic collision involving a small child who was hit by a car in the parking lot. |
Upon arrival, Officers found the small male child later determined to be 2 years, 11 months old, lying in the parking lot in front of the west entrance/exit of the Bel Air Shopping Center next to a Red 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The child sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to the U.C. Davis Medical Center where he died. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Kathleen Parker, a 67 year old resident of Woodland.
The preliminary investigation reveals that this was an unfortunate unintentional traffic collision. This case will be investigated by the Woodland Police Department Traffic Division.
The identity of the child will not be released due to his age.
