|On Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 10:12 P.M., Woodland Police Officers were dispatched to the 7-11 convenience store, located at 1229 E. Main St., for a report of hit and run collision involving a pedestrian. |
As responding officers arrived on scene and they located an unconscious adult female with life-threatening injuries lying in the parking lot. Medical personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to the UCD Medical Center for treatment. Witnesses to the incident stated the suspect drove over the victim in the parking lot and fled the area. Investigating officers obtained a description of the suspect and her vehicle, including the license plate number.
Woodland Police Officers responded to the 1245 Alice St. apartment complex to check for the vehicle and suspect using the license plate information that was provided. Officers located the suspect’s vehicle parked in the parking lot at this location. The suspect, identified as 28 year-old Woodland resident Kristal Sutton, was contacted at her apartment and subsequently arrested.
Sutton was later booked into the Monroe Detention Center on a single charge of 20001 of the California Vehicle Code-Leaving the scene of a collision after causing serious injury, a felony. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the collision.
