|On Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at approximately 2:40 pm, Woodland Police Officers were dispatched to the Chevron Gas Station at 5 W. Main Street for a report of a stabbing that had just occurred.|
Officers arrived to find 41-year-old Woodland resident Dave Lopez with a non life threatening wound to his left arm.
Also on scene was 44-year-old April Wilson, who police later learned was the suspect in the stabbing. During the investigation, police learned that the stabbing occurred nearby at the Dunton Motel (449 West Street, #2), where Wilson had allegedly not let Lopez leave during an argument which led to the stabbing. The reason for the argument which led to the stabbing is not yet known. Several officers processed the crime scene at that location.
While that was occurring, medical personnel treated and prepared Lopez for transport to the Woodland Memorial Hospital and other officers arrested Wilson for her involvement in the stabbing.
Wilson was transported to the Woodland Police Department for an interview and then to the Yolo County Jail where she was booked for violation of Penal Code §245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Penal Code §236 – False Imprisonment. At the time of this writing, a bail amount is not yet known.
There was mention of a third party being involved – a male subject. But beyond that, police have no description, name, or detail of what his involvement may have been.
Anyone with any information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Woodland Police Department at (530) 666-2411.
