On 12-28-12, at approximately 1040 hrs., Woodland Police Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of County Road 102 regarding two subjects in a physcial altercation.   It was reported one of the subjects had a crowbar.  As dispatch was taking the call it was updated that the suspect, a 30 year old, black, male, adult, had left southbound on I-5 in a gold Nissan Altima or a gold Saturn.  Dispatch also updated that the victim was still on scene with a head injury.

When officers arrived they located the victim a 29 year old Sacramento resident.  The victim had withdrawn a large sum of cash from a bank in Sacramento.  While enroute to Redding the victim stopped in Woodland to get gas.  While pumping gas the suspect, a male black in his late twenties to early thirties wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head, approached the victim demanding his money.  The victim denied having money at which time he was struck over the head with a tire iron.  The victim ran into the business for assistance.  The suspect followed the victim swinging the tire iron and demanding money.  The victim emptied his pockets to show that he did not have any money on him.  The suspect went to the victim's vehicle where he broke the window and rummaged in the car.  The victim pulled the suspect from the vehicle.  The suspect left the scene in the gold car.  The victim recognized the driver of the vehicle as another bank customer from Sacramento.

The suspect was a black male adult in his late twenties to early thirties with a goatee or beard, approximately 5'8" to 5'10" weighing 190-220 pounds with a muscular build.  The driver of the suspect vehicle was a female Hispanic with a slight build.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries that were treated by AMR on the scene.
