| | Swordfish - Level 3 - Stroke Development

Swordfish emphaiszes stroke development of the front and back crawl. Additionally, swimmers are introduced to different kicks used in swimming. To move to Stingray, swimmers must be able to swim a minimum of 15 yards using both the front and back-crawl strokes.
Prerequisite skills to enter SWORDFISH
Step from side into chest-deep water
Front and back floats for 5 seconds
Swim on front and back using a combination of arm and leg actions for 15 feet
Goals and skills for SWORDFISH
Front and back glides with kick
Change of body position and direction
Introduction to treading water
Introduction to body motion and kick of the Butterfly
Introduction to diving skills
