Court Street and Fourth Street Parking Lot

Recently the City has received several comments/concerns about the increased number of tents in the parking lot near Court Street and Fourth Street. Although there is a noticeable increase in tents, this is not a sanctioned “tent city” by either the City or County. Representatives from the County and City are meeting in the first week of December to form an actionable response to the parking lot situation with consideration to weather conditions, access to services, recent court rulings, and site management needs. In the mean time, both agencies are committed to developing long-term solutions for homelessness through permanent supportive housing. One of the major issues being discussed is how to find an interim solution until the permanent supportive housing is in place.
